How to upload your PPTX File to Google Slides

how to upload pptx to google slides
I’m a big fan of Google Slides and I want you to be too!  Not only does it automatically save your file as you edit, but you can access your files from any device and computer.  So whether you’re sitting at your family computer, your laptop, your work computer, or even your smartphone, as long as you’re logged into your Google Account (Gmail) you have access to all your files.

Once you’ve downloaded your purchased files from Etsy and saved them to your computer*, follow this tutorial to open your PPTX files up in Google Slides.
*Your digital downloads purchased from Etsy can only be downloaded on a desktop/laptop computer and not through your mobile phone.  For information about accessing your purchased file, follow this link to Etsy’s help page:  https://help.etsy.com/hc/en-us/articles/115013328108-Downloading-a-Digital-Item?segment=shopping
1) In a web browser (Chrome, Safari, etc), open Google Drive or click on this link:
https://www.google.com/intl/en/drive/

2)  Click on GO TO DRIVE and Log in with your Gmail Credentials (your gmail email address and password)

3)  Select “New” in the upper left-hand corner of the screen.

4)  Select “Upload File.” Choose to upload a new file. …

5)  Select the desired PowerPoint presentation that you downloaded from Etsy (it has to be a file ending in .PPTX) and select OPEN

6)  After uploading the PPTX file, right-click the file image and select “Open With,” then select “Google Slides.” …

7-8)  Select “File.” at the top of the page on the left…   Select “Save as Google Slides.”

9) The file will open in a new tab and will no longer have the PPTX label at the top.  <– this is your new Google Slides File that you’ll want to edit and use.

10) Close the tab of the original PPTX file and start editing your NEW file in Google Slides
