Free Easter Download
Usually the night before Easter I’m hiding in my room hurriedly scrawling some riddles and clues on pieces of paper for our annual Easter Basket Hunt. You won’t find me doing that this year though!
I’ve put together an Easter “Treasure Hunt” Activity with riddle rhyming clues and I want to share it with YOU!
There are a total of 16 clues but you can use however many you’d like. If I’m feeling ambitious, 16 clues work great for my two older kids (8 & 11) but if I had younger kids I would do 8-10 clues and pick the easiest riddle rhymes.
The Easter Hunt download also includes 3 opening letters that you can use as well as a word scramble option for the very last clue.
HOW TO USE
FIRST: Before you print, decide which of the 3 opening letters you’ll be using. They’ll be page 4, 5, & 6.
PRINT pages 1-3 and then chose 4, 5 or 6.
SECOND: There’s a sheet on the first page with all the clues and the location.
Choose which clues you’ll use and then number them in the left column. Cross out the clues you won’t be using.
THIRD: Cut out the clues from page 2 & 3 and keep the clues you’ll use.
FOURTH: Gather empty plastic easter eggs
FIFTH: Place the first clue (#1) with the intro letter
SIXTH: When you’re ready to hide everything bring your list, cut out clues, and easter eggs and go through your location spots in-order. At each hiding spot, fold up your clue and put it in the Easter egg then hide it. Then go to the location of that clue (the one you just hid).
SEVENTH: When you’re on your final clue and you’re ready to hide their Easter Basket or a Prize, make sure you place the cut-out letters for the word scramble. I mostly did this so that you can easily choose the final super-hidden place to put your secret prize or basket. Some prizes are going to be small and some will be huge. I think I’ll use the dryer this year at our house. — More info inside the PDF packet in regards to the final clue.
and THAT’S IT! Easy as Defrosted Pie!
